  • What do I do in the study?

    You’ll complete brief surveys at the start, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months. 

    Depending on your group, you’ll receive either quit-support texts or abbreviated general health-related texts.

  • Do I get paid?

    Yes. 

    Participants receive stipends for completing study activities.

  • Is it flexible and remote?

    Yes. 

    You can participate from anywhere in South Texas using Zoom or online tools. In-person options are available, if preferred, for participants living in San Antonio.

  • Is it safe and private?

    Your information is protected and used only for research as approved by our Institutional Review Board (IRB). We do not share your personal data outside the study team.

  • Who runs and funds the study?

    The study is led by researchers at UT Health San Antonio and funded by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT).
