What to expect
Participants are randomly assigned (like tossing a coin) to one of two groups:
- The Quitxt Group. This group receives supportive text messages designed to help you quit smoking.
- The Control Group. This group receives general health-related short text messages.
All study activities can be done remotely by Zoom or online using your phone, making it easy and convenient to participate.
Receive rewards while you participate
You are asked to complete four short surveys:
- During enrollment
- At 1 month
- At 3 Months
- At 6 months
Each completed survey = $20 digital gift card
If you report quitting smoking at 1, 3 and/or 6 months, you will be asked to complete a simple saliva test at home over Zoom.
Each test completed = $20 more, no matter the results
In total, you can earn up to $140 in digital gift cards.
