About the Study
Quitxt is our bilingual, evidence-based text messaging smoking cessation program designed for young adults.
The study lasts 6 months and is enrolling 1,200 young adults who smoke tobacco cigarettes.
The goal is simple: help you quit smoking and live a longer, healthier life.

What to expect
Participants are randomly assigned (like throwing a coin) to one of two groups:
- The Quitxt Group receives supportive text messages designed to help you quit smoking.
- The Control Group receives general health-related short text messages.
All study activities can be done remotely by Zoom or online, making it easy and convenient to participate.
-

If you report quitting smoking at 1, 3 and/or 6 months, you will be asked to complete a simple saliva test at home over Zoom.
